About the role
The Revenue Analytics team combines leading-edge analytical techniques with strong business acumen in order to drive better decisions and outcomes for Shopify’s Commercial Revenue org. Data Scientists play a crucial role in turning data into actionable insights that shape our GTM strategies. You will join a team of passionate individuals who are driven by personal growth and constantly challenging themselves.
As a Staff Data Scientist, you will partner with our Technology teams, Data Engineering, and Revenue Operations to develop analytical data products and data insights, with a focus on solving important problems. We are looking for talented data science leaders who can help us better understand our merchants and sellers so we can bring more of Shopify to more merchants. This role requires a deep commitment to continuous personal growth, as we work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.

Qualifications
Extensive experience in business analytics – especially in the revenue space, forecasting methods , metrics definition, and working with data engineers on instrumentation and robust data pipeliningExtensive experience in a data science role solving large-scale, high impact business problemsMasterful data storytelling and strategic thinking, with an ability to inspire and cultivate the Data culture within your teamExtensive experience using Python including a strong grasp of object oriented programming (OOP) fundamentalsDeep understanding of advanced SQL techniques and data modelingWell versed with various Business Intelligence platforms and toolsExperience working with various levels of business stakeholders, from c-suite to Data Science senior leadershipWorking on multiple work streams excites you, and you are able to use ambiguity as an opportunity for high-level thinkingExperience creating data product strategies, building analytical data products, and continued iteration after launchExperience launching productionized machine learning models at scale is a plusExtensive domain experience in e-commerce, sales & marketing or SaaS is a plus
