Job Description
The Senior Manager will be responsible for driving technological advancement in the field of Machine Learning Engineering and Data Science through innovative AI-driven solutions that will shape the future of SSENSE. With a strong background in machine learning and practical experience building and implementing large scale predictive models, you will help to deliver reliable, scalable, resilient and observable AI solutions within the AWS ecosystem while elevating the ways of working and MLOps practices. The candidate will be involved in all aspects of the data products life cycle: research, development, final implementation and maintenance.
The candidate will help to identify needs, prioritize and implement reliable decision making systems through partnering with product teams and stakeholders. A portfolio of ML solutions will become part of its specialization that could include: buying intelligence, network planning and pricing life cycle optimization. They must show strong business acumen, strong technical skills and the ability & interest to oversee data projects from inception to final delivery & continuous monitoring while also having a hands-on approach.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Advise with and elevate a team of world class data scientists & machine learning engineering, providing leadership through consulting and coaching on a regular basis Manage & guide the team of data scientist and machine learning engineers into providing data driven solutions partnering with strategic business stakeholders while leading to the development of complete solutions including their deploymentOversee the improvement of MLOps practices while adding new functionalitiesDesign and overview architecture to developed solutionsBe aware of pre-existing services within AWS ecosystem (e.g. Forecast, Rekognition) in order to propose and be able to coach / support partners in their implementationIdentify and lead data science projects that drive material business value and align with the strategic positioning of the department and of SSENSEDevelop partnership & guidance with the other departments (technical & business) to establish and deliver cross-functional projectsWork closely with product and engineering teams to bring products, features and automated decision systems to lifeGather and analyze data, identify key prediction/classification problems, devise solutions and build prototypesFormulate machine learning approaches while paying attention to business metricsDevelop high-performance algorithms to answer business needsTest, implement and deploy algorithms while understanding and resolving dependencies across systemsIdentify and solve for broad, highly complex problems based on a multitude of factorsDesign experiments to maximize insights while minimizing errorsEnhance data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systemsProcess, cleanse, and verify the integrity of data used for analysisEvangelize best practices for data synthesization, aggregation, and presentationRemain abreast of cutting edge developments in the Data Science domain to enhance current practices and upskill team members
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS
Master’s or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related fieldA minimum of 5 years experience with Data Science, Predictive Analytics and Machine Learning with a focus on driving business impactA minimum of 2 years leading or managing data scientists and machine learning engineersProven record of successful data driven product delivery (serverless / cloud way)Experience in developing in AWS environments (Cloud9, SageMaker)Experience in AWS serverless solutions (CloudFormation pipelines, lambas, step functions)Excellent programming skills using SQL & PythonStrong understanding of advanced modeling techniques, such as machine learning & nonparametric approachesStrong understanding of end to end machine learning products from inception to productionExperience solving analytical problems using quantitative approachesExperience working with GitHubExperience in the specific field that the candidate will oversee (a strong asset)E-commerce experience and knowledge (an asset)Excellent verbal and written communication skills
