Job Description

Reporting to the Manager of Planning & Strategy, the Senior Data Analyst, Insights Reporting is responsible for translating business requirements into technical reporting requirements across end-to-end processes in our e-Commerce Studio. This role is responsible for formulating clear recommendations for developing data pipelines and key performance indicators to power reporting, and crafting compelling data visualization for efficient consumption and powerful insight extraction. The ideal candidate will work cross-functionally, embrace coaching and have a collaborative style, with the ability to influence and motivate to drive performance results.

Responsibilities

Business Reporting & Data Analysis (60%)

Collaborate with the Manager of Planning & Strategy to design a reporting and dashboarding strategy that meets the current needs of business owners, as well as anticipated future data needsDevelop, and implement reporting solutions with AWS tools like Athena, Tableau, and LookerSupport in the design, development, and maintenance of various user-friendly dashboards in Tableau and Looker, using multiple reproducible data sources, stored procedures, views, calculations, parameters, and overall performanceMigrate SAAS, excel sheets and CSV reports to interactive and automated dashboardsIn collaboration with domain experts, translate all Studio strategic and growth initiatives into operational metrics and dashboards to monitor project performance, as well as ensuring methods for reporting are maintainedDrive the execution on actionable objectives, translated from reporting requests, including identifying criteria, fields, grouping, summary options, time frames and other components required to build a successful reportCarry out ad-hoc reporting and data analysis requests, articulate metrics and establish analytical models

Data Governance (40%)

Work closely with business and technical teams to ensure clear governance standards, along with the process to manage and maintain them over timeDefine clear and consistent metric definitions, comprehensive capture and up-to-date documentation of operational and analytical reporting requirements Provide support to develop specification documents to guide the data ingestion, validation, transformation and aggregation processes for new data sourcesHelp support Data Engineers in the implementation of data pipelines and participate in the validation processesDevelop  standard design principles for dashboards, reporting, and workflow visualisationsParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives for refining / streamlining data or visualisation standards, as well as change management practices for deployment; inclusive of scalable approach to deprecating and removing legacy reports and dashboardsEvaluate and improve the data quality and completeness of Studio data available in the enterprise data lakeDesign agile approach for managing ad hoc reporting requests

Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Software Engineering, or another relevant field3-5 years experience in analytics, business intelligence, data engineering, or a similar role, specifically working with SQL and relational database2+ years of experience with data visualization tools, including, but not limited to, Tableau, Looker, AWS QuickSight, etc Extensive experience with data manipulation using SQL or other means to extract and transform data is a mustExperience with information design principles and data visualization methods, best practices, and software packages and APIs such as Tableau or equivalent analytics toolsKnowledge of process mapping software (Lucidchart, Visio) an assetAdvanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, in particular Excel and PowerPointExcellent English written and verbal communication skills, French an asset
