THE OPPORTUNITY

We are hiring a Senior Analytics Engineer to our Data team in Portugal!

Join our growing Data team at Gympass and contribute to our data democratization mission – make data accessible to everyone.

We are responsible for empowering all teams by providing a scalable and reliable data platform to collect, organize and process the deluge of data generated daily at Gympass, following data modeling and governance best practices. Your work will directly impact our goal of enabling all teams to make data-driven decisions and generate business value from data.

YOUR IMPACT

Develop and maintain data models and structures that enable efficient querying and analysis;
Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines to transform and process large volumes of data from various sources, while adding business context and semantics to the data;
Implement automated data quality checks to guarantee data quality and consistency across the whole data life cycle.

WHO YOU ARE

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent professional experience;
Experience in design, develop, and maintain data pipelines to transform and process large volumes of data from various sources, while adding business context and semantics to the data;

Experience creating robust and scalable data models from business requirements;
Experience working collaboratively to collect, prepare, and analyze complex business data;

Proficient in SQL and Python;
Knowledge of data modeling techniques (Data Warehousing, Slowly Changing Dimensions, Lakehouse);
Knowledge of business and technology metrics/KPIs (churn, revenue, CTR);

Knowledge of scheduling tools and workflow orchestrators (e.g. Airflow);

Experienced with data integration techniques (Reprocessing, Backfill, Partitioning);

Automated data quality checks and consistency;
Great communication skills and advanced level of English.

NICE TO HAVE

Experience with Datalakes architecture and file formats;
Experience with Data Visualization tools (Tableau/Metabase/Looker);
Experience with AWS and Spark ecosystem;
Experience with Data streams ingestion and processing;
Understanding on how people interact with data tools to drive the platform evolution.

PAID TIME OFF: We know how important it is to take time away from work to recharge. Employees receive a minimum of 25 days paid holiday per year with an additional day for each year of tenure (up to 5) in addition to annual holidays (including an extra holiday on your birthday!).

PARENTAL LEAVE: 100% paid parental leave of 12 weeks to all new parents (of both biological and adopted children, regardless of gender and parent’s relationship with the co-parent) + 100% paid birth leave of 14 weeks.
