Riverside Research is an independent National Security Nonprofit dedicated to research and development in the national interest. We provide high-end technical services, research and development, and prototype solutions to some of the country’s most challenging technical problems.

Job Number: 1359

The research scientist will contribute to a diverse team responsible for researching and developing mathematically grounded solution in security systems. They will be expected to develop, test, debug, and push both code and accompanying documentation. Additionally, they should have demonstrable experience in one high-level (Python/MATLAB) and C/C++.   Moreover, the candidate should have prior experience conducing in-depth mathematical analysis of algorithms.  The research scientist should have the writing skills necessary to communicate their ideas and results to internal and external stakeholders. Furthermore, the research scientist will also contribute to technical marketing and proposal writing in their research area in addition to interfacing with team members across Riverside Research locations. 

Job Responsibilities: 

Develop, test, optimize and verify algorithms in Python or MATLAB 
Perform in-depth mathematical analysis on algorithms   
Implement algorithms in C/C++ and port to unique hardware   
Contribute to whitepapers and/or published papers that document innovative work preformed 
Collaborate with team members on debugging, reviewing papers/proposals, etc. 
Participate in relevant internal and customer meetings 

Required Qualifications: 

BS in mathematics, computer science, electrical engineering, or related field 
0-4 year’s work experience 
Must be eligible to obtain a Top Secret security clearance 
Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, and C/C++ 

Desired Qualifications: 

4+ years’ work experience or MS degree in mathematics, computer science or a related field 
Self-starter and ability to manage time independently without direct supervision 
Superior written and verbal communications skills 
Experience with both defensive and offensive cyber algorithm development and analysis
