We are a high-performing team that meets in person to learn and collaborate as needed. This role is considered hybrid, which means you’ll be assigned to our Columbia, MD office and given the flexibility to work remotely. We are looking for someone to be on-site 2-3 days a week.

Director, Business Intelligence

The position provides leadership to the Institutional Support Services (ISS), Operations Management (OM), Business Intelligence (BI) team. The BI team operates to deliver clarity of data / analytics, expert analysis / consulting, and business intelligence leading to effective processing and decision excellence across ISS and all ATGE institutions. Leads team to operate effectively across all ISS departments / institutions to ensure alignment to ISS and ATGE priorities and ensures 100% of compliance and regulatory targets are met.  Supports and drives continuous improvement (including proper alignment of support functions within the team and ISS / ATGE), change management and business process initiatives resulting in delivery of exceptional business results for all institutions, students and stakeholders. The role requires strong collaboration and project management with internal ISS leaders, institutions and other departments (Regulatory Affairs, Internal Audit, Marketing, Finance, etc…). Leverages and leads innovative analytics and technology solutions to simplify, automate and deliver business process workflow and data leading to quality business / strategic decisions. Leads partnership with ATGE Analytics / Data Engineering team to properly align support provided by our BI team and advocating for all ISS reporting initiatives supported by the ATGE team.  Drives performance within ISS and institutional partners within Adtalem to impact the student experience and support organizational growth.

Responsiblities:

Leads Business Intelligence team / culture to support innovation and alignment of functions / energy towards the mission of the BI team, including democratization of data across ISS, providing visual and self-service analytics tools that enables efficient, compliant processing and data-driven team management and business / strategic decision making across ISS.Leverages innovation in data analytics, business partnership across Adtalem, and develops talent to ensure solid analytical bench strength on the BI team.  This results in delivery on BI objectives, including coordination and maintenance of meaningful KPIs/SLAs across all ISS teams, timely / effective intake, prioritization and completion of reporting requests with focus on strategic analytics solutions. Partners with stakeholders to build improved data / analytics solutions, including self-serve dashboards rather than recurring ad hoc and repeat data requests.Develops and implements process improvements and alignment of functions to the proper team. Champions needed change to stay aligned to our mission, competitive, and student focused.Networks and proactively communicates to develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships to meet current and future needs. Maintains tools and processes that ensure efficient, timely, and proactive status updates for effective stakeholder management.Manages multiple functions for multiple institutions ensuring seamless, student-centric data solutions leading to exceptional business performance results.Provides leadership support to ensure quality and audit / compliance throughout ISS and partner institutions through all functions including, but not limited to training, quality assurance, quality/compliant business process, communications, operational support functions and audit support.Leader of systems, technology and business process solutions to deliver efficient and effective technology results for all business partners.Serves as an executive liaison, representing ISS with institutional partners by serving on various committees, task forces, project teams, etc. and maintaining a proactive, transparent relationship on service level agreements and continued improvement in service delivery.Collaborates with ISS leadership to determine resource allocation, commitment, etc.Leads, develops, and manages talent that maximizes outcomes and establishes career paths to retain top talent.Maintains a customer focused department and creates service level agreements and SOPs / documentation for all support services.Develops talent, manages performance and delivers performance evaluations, while embracing and modeling the organization’s TEACH values.Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Complies with all policies and standards.Bachelor’s Degree Required.Master’s Degree Preferred.10 years Proven senior-level leadership experience required with demonstrated ability in colleague and team development.8 years Proven higher education or comparable experience managing highly regulated functional areas preferred.Expertise with reporting and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Cognos, etc…), advanced Excel functions and modeling, statistical and predictive analytics, and data warehouse (e.g., Google Cloud Platform, etc…).Strong analytical skills with ability to process ambiguous and or seemingly conflicting data / information, including collaboration with business partners, to identify solutions to create “one version of truth” across AdtalemAt least 5 years’ experience in one or more of the following, analytics, financial analysis, statistical modeling and analysis, or related fieldExperience in collaboration and stakeholder management working with all levels of leadership.Areas of expertise including Registrar functions and responsibilities, Academic policy, procedures and programs, and/or extensive Student Finance, Title IV and Student Services knowledge a plus.Can handle responsibility without authority – i.e. able to facilitate execution across multiple departments and institutions within Adtalem Global Education.Exhibits a strong executive leadership presence coupled with excellent written and verbal communication skills.Displays strong strategic-planning skills complimented with exceptional business acumen.Ability to drive projects and results involving several business units.Ability to develop and motivate teams to meet or exceed goals.Excellent communication skills.

Additional Information

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $97253.99 and $175761.85. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
