Company Description

AECOM is seeking a Data Engineer & Information Management Professional to join its Digital AECOM business within its newly formed Digital Consulting Services group in ANZ. As a member of the Information Management team, you will be a key part of delivering technical work for our biggest Digital Consulting offering to our biggest clients such as the Department of Defence, transportation and utilities including water, power and communications.

As a Data Engineer & Information Management Professional at Digital AECOM, you will be responsible for the data and information management of systems and solutions for our clients across ANZ. You will work closely with our Australia-wide Digital Consulting Services Team to identify client needs, develop data management strategies, and implement solutions that optimize data effectiveness, quality, security and accessibility.

As a member of the ANZ Information Management team, you will be directly reporting to the Principal, Information Management. A self-motivated and inquisitive individual would best suit this role with a combination of on-the-job and self-paced training provided.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Engage with clients to understand their business and technical needs that align with their business objectivesDesign, build and integrate data management practices, processes and tools to support process automation, systems and solutions for our clients in ANZDevelop and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliabilityPerform data quality assessments, remediation, modelling, analysis through appropriate use of technologies and tools including GIS, Excel and applicable database management systemsImplement data quality monitoring mechanisms to proactively identify and resolve data issues as part of a continual improvement processWork with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure that data is properly defined, structured, integrated and modelled for use in analytics and reportingContinuously evaluate and optimise data management processes and technologies to improve efficiency, scalability, and performanceConfigure enterprise level application quality management platforms as required to support clients globallyImplementation support of AECOM’s proprietary Software as a Service products (https://digital.aecom.com/products)

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field4+ years of experience in data engineering and/or information managementStrong understanding of data management principles and best practicesFamiliar with software development methodologies and lifecycles, covering requirements, design, coding, testing, formal validation, change management, hypercare) and the documentation of suchExcellent problem-solving and analytical skillsStrong oral and written communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Sciences or a related field (preferred)Professional certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Big Data Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate)Experienced in GIS Spatial data arithmetic and manipulation tools (e.g. Esri, MapInfo, QGIS)
