Job Description

What you’ll do  

RedBook is the leading provider of vehicle identification and pricing data services in Australia. We have been researching the automotive market for over 70 years, and are a trusted business partner within the auto, finance, and insurance industries.

This is your opportunity to join the RedBook Australia business as the Data Development & Integration Manager. In this role, you will lead the strategic direction, revenue, delivery, product development, Profit & Loss and the research of data assets.

Reporting into the Global General Manager, in this diverse role, you will ensure the optimal identification and utilisation of consistent data assets for use in RedBook products and services across all 9 RedBook Asia-Pacific countries (including Australia).

Support all aspects of the RedBook Australia business as the subject matter expert and “public face” in relation to the automotive industry and vehicle data including used and future pricing trends.

Share expertise as a subject matter expert in the current and future direction of the Global Automotive industry in relation to the data assets required to provide RedBook a competitive advantage in our products and services.

Develop and deliver approved business revenue plans including the identification of new sales opportunities and the selling of data products to B2B and B2C customers.

In addition, to vehicle attribute data, your focus will be required on several aspects of the new car industry that impacts new vehicle pricing, vehicle safety, vehicle cost to own, car special offers, drive away price calculations, etc.

Understand and agree the acquisition of data assets on a consistent and timely manner and the early identification of future data asset acquisitions required, for vehicle identification, specification, pricing and insight delivery processes, to maximise RedBook products and services.

Qualifications

What are we looking for 

Demonstrated inclusive and interpersonal attributes that connect you to our behaviours (we change the game, we own it, we step in, we are curious, we don’t take ourselves too seriously).

Demonstrate understanding and expertise to identify, provide design support, and assist the delivery of efficient systems, (including data entry, databases and retrieval systems) both existing and new and the implementation of efficient research processes, that adheres to our strict quality and legal standards.

Drive a culture of continuous data improvement, utilisation and insights in our RedBook products and services.

Extensive understanding of the broad automotive market across the Asia-Pacific region and how automotive data is used across the ecosystem by B2B and B2C customers. A minimum of 15 years+ management experience with an Automotive OEM, and/or associated Industry company.

Understand database structures and data delivery mechanisms, ideally via experience in data research capability.

Experience working with data from a wide variety of sources such as flat files, Excel, databases, and APIs. Highly proficient in MS SQL server, MS Excel (including macros), VBA and Python is a mandatory requirement. Working knowledge and experience with R or a data visualisation platform would be beneficial.

The role has a strong focus on car data but is not limited to cars as RedBook researches heavy commercial, motorbikes, caravans and marine in various countries.
