Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Business Intelligence Developer to join our dynamic team. As a Business Intelligence Developer, you will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, and analysis of Business Intelligence reporting solutions sourced from JW Pepper enterprise applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design data models, develop interactive dashboards, and deliver timely and relevant reporting solutions that empower informed decision-making across the organization.
This position resides in-house at our Corporate Headquarters in Exton, PA and is not remote.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with stakeholders, including business analysts and data engineers, to understand business requirements and translate them into effective visualizations and dashboards. Design, develop, and maintain interactive and user-friendly dashboards that cater to various business needs, including operational, strategic, and analytical reporting. Build and optimize data models, data sources, and data connections to ensure efficient and accurate data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes. Perform data validation and quality assurance to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of the displayed information within dashboards. Stay current with industry trends and best practices in data visualization and business intelligence to continuously enhance the effectiveness and usability of the reporting solutions. Collaborate with the data engineering team to identify and resolve data-related issues, optimize query performance, and ensure data integrity. Provide technical support and training to end-users, guiding them on how to effectively utilize dashboards and self-serve reporting capabilities. Participate in project planning, estimation, and scoping, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality solutions that align with business objectives. Contribute to the evolution of the organization’s BI strategy by recommending enhancements, new features, and technologies that improve data visualization and reporting capabilities.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Analytics, or a related field. Proficiency in designing and developing interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using a modern Data and Analytics platform. Strong understanding of data modeling concepts, data aggregation, and ETL processes. Solid grasp of database management systems and SQL, with the ability to write complex queries for data manipulation and analysis. Familiarity with data warehousing, data integration, and data transformation techniques. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex data-related issues. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams. Attention to detail, along with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks. Knowledge of data security and privacy best practices when working with sensitive data. Tableau certification(s) is a plus.
